By Bus Palermo possesses a public bus system known as AMAT. Orange buses recognize local routes from the blue intercity routes.Be carefull to the pickpockets...especially inside the bus for Monreale. Everybody next to you can be a pickpocket! 
TAXI in Palermo: It's always a good rule to ask before how much (more or less) will cost your ride!!!...Even if the taxi uses the taximeter you'll never know if the taxi will tourn around your destination for 30 minutes just to make your bill MORE Expensive!!!...From Airport to the City Center there is a fix Rate: Around 40€ during the day and 45€/50€ MAXIMUM during the night...DON'T PAY MORE...Take the number of the taxi and the phone number of the company (if you can) if the taximan wants you to pay more!
By Train  There is a train that runs among the airport and Stazione Centrale that services the intervening areas. This is not helpful for getting around the city itself, but if you happen to be going somewhere in between the city and the airport
By boat 
It is a convenient way to get to Palermo and bring your car along. There are two companies offering the connection services. 
  • Grandi Navi Veloci offers three connections. From Genoa, daily, duration: 20 h. From Livorno three times a week; duration: 19 h. From Rome Civitavecchia, daily; duration: 12 h.  
  • Tirrenia and SNAV  connects Palermo and Naples every day; duration: app. 10 h

    The Taffic of Palermo  ;o)  : Palermo's streets have no rules. Every encounter between you, the pedestrian, and traffic is a new bartering for position, an improvisation, a delicate if life-threatening dance in which timing is everything. It would be best to leave your car in a  parking lot and to visit the city on foot or with public transport - No Stress more Fun  ;o)
