My friends and I stayed in Palermo for 5 days at Georgio's house. It was very clean and homey, you get your own key, breakfast and Georgio's lovely. Our stay in Sicily wouldn't have been nearly as fun if we'd stayed anywhere else. We were given advice about what to do and see, how to get to the beaches (Even down to the train times). Georgio took us on a 2 hour trip to Agrigento see the greek temples at night, and also to a lovely tanning beach that's not easily accessable if you don't have a car. On our last night we went on a walking tour of Palermo, were told stories about different buildings, interesting events (I won't sell out his prize stories), ate spleen at the oldest restaurant in Palermo, and finished off with a lovely dinner. There are always young travellers from all over the world passing through Georgio's, so that added to the fun as well. My only complaint is that he takes no tips, or even money for petrol!! If you're planning to visit Palermo even for one night, I'd definitely recommend staying at Georgio's.

My stay at Giorgio’s house was the best out of all of Italy, which was a 2 month tour. Giorgio went out of his way to show a group of students and I the island of Sicily, with his own car. Giorgio will do anything to make your stay in Sicily a memorable one, authentic Sicilian food, the beaches, and the “rough” outdoors. I very much appreciate his kindness during my stay, and would recommend his place to anyone at any age.

Just got back from a tour of Italy which finished off in Palermo, i was guided my numerous reviews to pick this B&B that seemed a little on the cheap side. We were met at the station by giorgio who took us to the B&B which took alot of stress out of finding the accommodation let alone being over charged by the taxi drivers at the station. When first driving around Palermo it appears to have quite a menacing face , bustling streets with colour faded buildings ,with the ever present tales of the Mafia whirling in your mind. Once inside giorgios house this subsides and he puts your mind at rest. We went on two of his night time guided tours which were excellent meandering along dimly lit backstreets that you never would have travelled on your own, both times ending at a place to eat. He takes you to local cheap priced eateries with excellent food, the place doing the panini being the best. He also recommeded the beach at cefalu which would have been even better better if it wasn't a public holiday the beach was crammed but for a very good reason the town is quaint and the sand soft and water invitingly clear. I have read reviews saying it was noisy and there was a problem with rubbish ,it was noisy but there was a festival on and it is a big city what more would you expect, if you don't like this don't come to Italy but ofcourse this would be a huge mistake. The rooms were large clean and simple a BARGAIN for the price with a free tour guide, the two bathrooms were cleaned before 8am every morning. The breakfast was continental and always nice . It has the homely hostel feel where people meet up and enjoy a stroll around the city together if they wanted to. There is a large police presence in Palermo which i find comforting and we often meandered through the back streets at night quite safe in a small group, the fear factor deminishing every night we went out.To sum up an excellent simple no hassle place to stay with great host, on first view a city that reminded me of Naples but once you scratched the surface mellowed into the serenity of Siena.

My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights at Giorgios in June and despite such a small amount of time, it was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Giorgios place is cosy and full of charm. The rooms were huge - in a hostel they would've crammed 4 bunk beds into our room instead of our comfy double bed. There was a nice communal area where we were able to meet some great people. The best thing about Giorgios House is Giorgio himself - he went out of his way to show us the best of this corner of Sicily, and his enthusiasm for his country was infectious. He was more than happy to chauffer us around, to gorgeous beaches and little fishing villages.I have to mention the breakfast as well - which was included in the already bargin price - chocolate pastries, and traditional sicilian delicacies (or were they just deep fried cheese sarnies??) Either way, they rocked, and so did Giorgio's House! THE WORLD NEEDS MORE GIORGIO'S!!

Chris Simmons, from Illinois (USA) and Montreal, QC, Canada: A stay at Giorgio's house is certainly a treat. The accomodations are good, three sizable guest rooms, adequately furnished, and two shared bathrooms (which are very clean, and it isn't too bad to share among). The location is also excellent--very near the Palazzo Normanni and the Cappella Palatina (Palatine Chapel) on a broad , safe-feeling street that isn't really isn't noisy at night. Of course, one wants to choose Giorgio for his very cheap prices (and it can be helpful to check out his website in order to see how to get an even better discount than usual), great for a city and if you're not renting a part-time apartment. But in my opinion, the real reason to stay at Giorgio's is Giorgio himself; he is the kindest, friendliest host, and he takes his job as host very seriously. He always wants his guests to be happy, always wants to go out of the way for them. He gives advice and is interested in his guests' adventures and talking cheerfully and also intelligently to them. He provides a nice, varied breakfast, takes them to restaurants or explores a neighborhood with them in the evenings. He picked us up at the port in Palermo, which was a godsend considering that we arrived there not knowing our way around, with quite a bit of luggage, very early in the morning and in a state of uncomfortable confusion. Giorgio picked us us, took us back, and made us feel at home. As a foreign traveler in Sicily, it's sometimes hard to find people who will go out of their way to be friendly toward you, and Giorgio is certainly a treat in that you will become like his friend when you stay with him, and he will show you things that only an insider could be familiar with. And it's always fun when you can show Giorgio things that you've discovered as well. He loves to learn and grow in this respect as well. So, in closing, I would highly recommend Giorgio's House, for the functionality and cleanliness of the accomodation and also for the wonderful personality of the person who owns it--Giorgio himself.

This is Molly and Tanna from Spingfield, Missouri, USA. We were just two 20 year olds looking for an adventure and did we find one with Giorgio! We can honestly say it was one of the best times in our lives and the best stay we have ever had by a long shot! Giorgio wants to do anything and everything for his guests so they can experience the wonders of Sicily. Our stay at Giorgio's house gave us the opportunity to experience adventures that no other hotel would offer. The beaches Giorgio took us to were AMAZING and our mini tours of Palermo and the surrounding area were breathtaking! Words cannot describe how greatful we were to have picked Giorgio's house for our stay in Sicily. Everyone we told our experience to always said, "Wow how did you get so lucky picking a place like Giorgio's House to stay." The truth is we did get lucky, and I would highly recommend Giorgio's House a hundred times over for your vacation accomodations. Thanks so much Girgio for all your kindness and hospitality! We will never forget our SUPER stay in Palermo, Sicily! :) I hope to one day come back and visit!
