Giorgio's house was a fabulous place to stay. Despite our late evening arrival at the station he extended his generosity to us by picking us up. In addition to this, he also provided us with a night tour of the city, free of charge. Through his thorough explanations we gained a greater understanding of the history of the city, and learned things that you cannot learn from reading a guidebook. The breakfasts that were provided were delicious and this combined with the friendly demeanor of owner, and the very reasonable rates made the stay an unforgettable one.

We stayed at Georgio's for 4 nights and had the most wonderful time. Our room was large and decorated in a wonderful 'shabby chic' style. Impeccably clean, comfortable beds and the best breakfast in the whole of Italy! In the middle of Palermo and close to everything the only small minus was the traffic noise but that's what you have earplugs for isn't it? AND if you wan't to be near the action it's a small price to pay.Georgio was great. He collected us from the station and went out of his way to make our stay a good one. In fact he went out of his way to deliver a package for me which had been posted to me from England and arrived after we left Palermo. Full of fun and an absolute fund of knowledge about everything in Palermo, Sicily and Italy he was fabulous.Fellow guests were lively and interesting and great fun to be with. Many thanks Georgio, hope to see you again, Wendy & Marion

Giorgio's House was wonderful. We spent all day visiting the city and then bought a bottle of wine and sat on the balcony that overlooked the streets. Then Giorgio and 4 of us that stayed at his place went to dinner at a local place. We actually ended up going back to that restaurant at the end of the week on our own! We took a night time driving tour with him and saw other parts of the city that we missed on foot.

We stayed 4 days in Giorgio's House, it was very genial. The hostel is clean, spacious and good appointed. But the best is the helping hand and the care to have a wonderful journey to sicilia and palermo town. :-) This hostel is absolute advisable!!!

Giorgio's House is different. 1) These are not hotel accommodations - more a nice hostel. . . older furnishings to include Twin beds, pushed together with old linens, desk and closets . .. .shared bathrooms among the 3/4 bedroom suites. 2) The location is on the second floor of an apartment building, in a typical "colorful" residential Palermo neighborhood . . .there is not a lobby with a check-in desk, there are not lovely downtown surrounds. There is a tiny elevator to get your luggage to the second floor from the gated security entry level of the apartment building. (you and your luggage may not make the trip together due to the small size) 3) This is not a quiet location - the constant sound of mopeds, trash collection, street vendors, everyday life of Palermo. Now if these things are not bothersome to you, you are in for a delightful experience. Giorgio's House is an experience in itself. If you want a true taste of Palermo, stay here. Giorgio's house is really an apartment with a 1960ish kitchen, (equipped with typical kitchen accessories for your use), a community dining room, your bedroom, and shared bathrooms. Giorgio, a one man show, is open, honest, and clearly an entrepenuer with a clear vision of his mission. . . to be a true representative of his city and hospitality. He answers all questions, gives excellent guidance, conducts tours and even picks up and drops off guest, if his schedule allows. Giorgio picked us up from the Airport at almost Midnight - which required him to wait over an hour for our late plane arrival. I witnessed Giorgio give another couple free train tickets out of his own pocket-saying "if I have them, you can have them". What concierge would do that? Upon our departure, he even refused our tip for his troubles!!Palermo, the city, is a lively robust city - still unaffected by tourism. No, it is not spit-shined or polished. Yes, it has dirty areas, and questionable alleyways. But combined with the history, and the people, it is also a city full of energy and spirit. We can't imagine we would have enjoyed the city as much had we not stayed at Giorgio's. We met other travelers from other countries, with varying interest and ideas. We conversed and drink wine together, while sitting on the Giorgio's House balcony, . . . enjoying the pizzeria/bakery smells from below and watching people go about their daily routines. We enjoyed a delightful juice and pastry breakfast, a nice evening tour, extremely reasonably priced accommodations and a fantastic host. To tour Palermo, stay elsewhere . . . to experience Palermo . . .stay at Giorgio's House.

This place is great. giorgio is my favorite person in sicily. he was on time to pick us up at the train station, took us on a local tour of palermo , (which was optional, but i must recommend it) that you could never get from any guide book and he had a great sicilian breakfast ready every morning. the rooms were huge and his place is immaculately clean. It's a short walk to downtown palermo and to the bus station that will take you to the breathtaking monreale. i would'nt stay anywhere else when i return to palermo.thanks giorgio!

We booked Giogio's on reviews alone and he surpassed our expectations. He met us at the port when we arrived and took us out on an excursion every day. We went out of the city to a nature reserve the first day and then out for evening walks and dinner the other evenings. Giorgio's is conveniently located, walking distance from the central station and the subway and a short three or four blocks to the Palazzo Reale (the parliament) and cathedral. His flat is clean and comfortable. He has a common room for hanging out with other guests/watching TV. His rooms are large and there is plenty of space to store your stuff (lots of cupboards, etc). We had no trouble in terms of saftey. Giorgio's treated us like his friends rather than patrons. Thank you Giorgio!!!
