We spent four nights at “Giorgio's House” and were highly pleased with our choice of accomodation. Since we decided to visit Sicily in high season, we were deeply grateful to find such a low priced b&b with such a good cost performance ratio. All in all, the b&b consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen, a lounge, and two bathrooms. Our bedroom was equipped with everything we needed: clean sheets on the bed, towels, wardrobes, chairs, fans, and what we appreciated most: loads of information about sicily, maps, and travel guides (even available in different languages), etc. Once arrived at Giorgio's house, we felt immediately at home. The atmosphere there cannot be compared to a “normal” hostel, it's not as impersonal and anonymous as in a hostel, but very warm and welcoming. You will just feel like a member of a small apartment-sharing community. The excellent host of this small but nice bed & breakfast is a very friendly, helpful, funny, open-minded, and charismatic young man called Giorgio. The service he offers is great: it doesn't matter at what time you arrive at the train station, Giorgio will be there and pick you up (for free!). Furthermore, he prepares a delicious breakfast every morning and tries to give you an insight into the most popular Sicilian specialties. Apart from that, he offers other free activities, for instance, Palermo by night tours, trekking tours, gelato parties, and so forth. If you are just staying for a couple of days in Palermo, we can highly recommend to join in Giorgio's activities since you will get a good overview of the city and lots of insider tipps. Taking part in his free activities bears another positive side effect: you have the chance to get to know people from all over the world! Concerning the location of Giorgio's house, there is to say that it's just a stone's throw away from the city centre. Being a guest at Giorgio's house was a great experience and we will be back next year! So, what are you waiting for?! Have fun! Eli&Mike

We spent two nights in November 2007 at Giorgio's House and found it wonderful. After flying overnight, it was so helpful to have someone willing to pick us up at the train station, to speak English, and to acquaint us with the city. Giorgio never seemed too busy to spend time with his guests; his tour was not only informative, but fun. We plan to recommend his B & B to anyone visiting Palermo. It was a great introduction to Sicily.

We read reviews about Giorgio's House and on that basis, booked 4 nights there. What a GREAT choice!!! Giorgio's house is a perfect location. We walked absolutely everywhere - never even took one taxi or bus ride. Giorgio met us at the train station, whisked us right to his place and set us up. He knows everything about Palermo and delights in sharing its secrets with all his guests. He took us on fabulous walking tours at night, seeing things we could not have seen without him; he drove us up to Monreale for an excellent pizza dinner and the best views ever. He is much more than B&B proprietor - Giorgio is now a friend. We will always cherish our fun and exciting days in Palermo which he enriched with his insight and perspective. And aside from all that, his place just feels like home. Very comfortable and clean. Stay at Giorgio's house!!!!Melinda and Gino from California

Staying in Giorgio's House was a great travel experience in itself. Palermo culture surrounded us, from the homey atmosphere and fun-loving friends we met there, to conversations and evening walks with Giorgio. The place was always clean and orderly, which is amazing considering that Giorgio does the housekeeping himself in addition to making breakfast and picking guests up from the train station. The latter meant a lot because it made us feel more safe and comfortable. The By noght tour was very nice and fun! :o)

Giorgios House was fantastic . It is located only a walking distance to the bus and train station but Giorgio offered to collect us so we would not have to walk with our over packed rucksack. Its located in the old part of Palermo where all the beautiful churchs and buildings are.The house is also only a short distance to good restaurants and pastry shops. The breakfast was fantastic typical sicilian pastries. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The best thing about Giorgios house is Giorgio himself, full of knowledge about Palermo and all of Sicily. The free excursion and the by night tour were amazing. He drove us and other guests in the house across Sicily where we saw Etna and swam in the most beautiful river felt more like that i was a guest in his home than a paying tourist. Giorgio also speaks fantastic English and French which is great because it is hard to find English speakers in Sicily.I would recommend Giorgios house to any traveller

My sister and I did a lot of research before our first trip to Sicily and decided to stay at Giorgio's after reading all the reviews. We were greeted at the train station by a friendly face which made a great start to our trip.We stayed at Giorgio's for seven nights and our room was spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect for people who don't want to feel like tourists.Giorgio's night time tours were a great intro to the city and there are a lot of pamphlets and books in the house full of Palermo (and surrounding towns) information. We went to Sicily to find our roots and we left feeling like we made a new friend.Look out Giorgio... the next time we come we are bringing the whole family.Petra and DanaMilwaukee, WI USA

We stayed at Giorgio's House is September 2007 and we found our stay simply faultless. Giorgio picked us up at the train station, drove us to the flat, gave us basic information about the house and the neighborhood. He cleaned the flat every day and prepared breakfast for us (delicious, by the way, a unique opportunity to taste Palermo specialities, both sweet and salty). On the second day of or stay, he organised a tour of the centre of Palermo with a dinner, which was a great chance to meet other fellow travellers staying at Giorgio's as well as to talk to Giorgio about Sicily. To put it short: booking with Giorgio means finding home away from home...And one more thing: if you stay at Giorgio's in mid-September, when school starts in Sicily, you will hear welcome-back-to-school children's songs from the opposite school. Cuuuute!
