Giorgio is an exceptional host, from picking us up from the rail station (when we had our heavy bags), providing great breakfast, to taking us out on excursions - we couldn't have asked for more! We went out on evening trips and a day trip, which was fabulous, especially as we didn't have a car so Giorgio took us off the beaten track to a nature reserve and a medieval town on top of a very steep hill! I will definitely be going back to stay at Giorgio's and would highly recommend it to fellow adventure seekers. I suggest you check out Giorgio's 'admission test' on his website and if you pass, this is definitely the place for you!

a friend in Los Angeles recommended i stay at "giorgio's house" in palermo.. because the proprietor was such a great guy, and a great guide. this turned out to be true!i met giorgio at the train station in palermo. he came to pick me up (this rarely happens w/ b&b hosts.) we immediately went for a walking tour of the city with all the b&b guests. then went for dinner at a local eatery. i immediately took to giorgio, his kindness, sense of humor, and desire to give his guest a great adventure.palermo is real city. it is somewhat raw - and not what you might expect.. be it that my only other italian experience had been roma. so palermo was an eye-opener.. but i had an amazing adventure in the country of my ancestors. i loved the people. the food was very interesting, and getting a sense of real life in sicilia - it was an incredible experience.i took a day trip to cefalu (per giorgio's recommendation.) a lovely mid-evil beach town, about an hour's train ride away.. there are many great sites to see in sicily - and i hope to return again soon.

Giorgio's place is excellent. The charm isnt with the place its self (although very clean and roomy) its with Giorgio. He is one of the warmest and funniest guys you will ever meet. If you ask nicely he will take you on a tour of Palermo and spend time with you giving you a real window into the local attracions and Sicilian life. When we stayed one day he took us to the beach and we ate pizza and icecream sandwiches. On another day he took us on a mini tour and then out to dinner with other guests staying. Our stay in Palermo wouldnt have been half as fun if we didnt stay there. As an extra extra extra bonus he will even drop you off at the station when you leave if you ask really nice. We love Giorgio and he has a place to stay in London if he ever wants to come over. Most reccomended!

I was worried about where I would stay when I went to Palermo. I would be spending one night there, alone; Within ten minutes of booking a room at Giorgios House, I had received a lovely email from him to inform me that he could meet me upon arrival in Palermo, and not to worry. He was upbeat, funny, an all round great guy ! It made the first part of trip more enjoyable (I was in Stromboli) because I had peace of mind about Palermo.Giorgio met me at the station, and it was just like meeting an old friend. He was cheerful, energetic, welcoming. We drove to the house, and he pointed out places of interest on the way. The house itself, is large, spacious, with everything that you could possibly need for your stay there ! I had a huge room, comfortable bed, and the use of a bathroom next door to it. Giorgio allows use of the kitchen, so you can cook your own food there, But the thing that made it the most special., was Giorgio himself. He is unique and wonderful and has now become a real friend. He provides tours, information, and all because he simply enjoys meeting people from around the world. He is not trying to make extra money.... he knows that the meeting of minds is worth far more than anything else. We went out into Palermo for dinner, he was great company, infact I could have stayed up talking to him all night but I had to leave early for my flight !Oh and that's another thing : the location. GREAT. Literally a ten minute walk to the station, and giorgio does offer free pick up from Statzione Centrale etc.Extra : The location is not too noisy either. I have stayed in Palermo before but it was so noisy. This was not, and there were pull down blinds too to keep out noise and sun in the morning. I hope you choose Giorgios House and have a great stay and I hope to go back there soon.

If you go to Palermo, make sure to stay with Giorgio. A great, very very friendly host, he took us on a walking tour in Palermo before taking us to a great restaurant. Can't say anything but great things about our stay with him, just a pity that it was too short.Stéphen, Brussels, Belgium

To say that my friends and I enjoyed our stay at Giorgio's House would be an understatement. I had never stayed at a B&B before, so I just expected to be provided accommodation and breakfast. Giorgio went above and beyond and set the bar so high, I wondered how the next B&Bs would top his--they didn't. Giorgio offered to pick us up from the train station, which was only about a 5 min walk away. Meeting Giorgio for the first time was like meeting a good, old friend. He put us all at ease with his humour and smile. The night we arrived, he took us all to a restaurant for drinks and delicious snacks, and we got to meet other travelers. It was a really nice way to break the ice and get settled in. The next day, Giorgio and his sister, Gabriella, took us on a nature hike at Madonie Mountains, followed by a visit to Cefalu. Both Giorgio and Gabriella are beautiful company. They have nothing but good intentions and beautiful hearts, and I could tell that they genuinely wanted us to have a wonderful and memorable experience. I also have to mention that they took us on this adventure, out of the goodness of their hearts, and asked for nothing in return. In terms of the accommodation, the room we stayed in was more than big enough for us 4 girls. It was spacious, clean, and bright. For breakfast, Giorgio would go and buy us fresh Italian pastries! They were absolutely delicious, and I still miss them very much. I also appreciated the hot tea that was served each morning. I know it may sound insignificant, but being greeted with hot tea and Italian pastries was such a wonderful way to start the day. Giorgio's House is walking distance from pretty much anything you might need or want to see. We never had to rely on any form of transportation to get around, aside from going to places like Cefalu and Monreale (both are highly recommended).Out of all the different places in Sicily and Greece that I recently traveled to, Palermo is the place I hold dearest to my heart. Giorgio took extremely good care of us, giving us a mixture of independence to explore while, offering to take us on adventures we wouldn't have experienced on our own. I would definitely go back to stay at Giorgio's House, the next time I visit Palermo. All the other B&Bs that we stayed at, after Giorgio's House, had something missing--Giorgio, himself. We love you, Giorgio! I'm sure I speak for my other 3, dear friends (fellow Super Girls!), when I say that we cannot wait to come back to visit and go on more adventures with Giorgio. I highly recommend Giorgio's House, if you're someone willing to visit Palermo with an open mind and an open heart. You will end up leaving Palermo with beautiful memories and new friend. Andrea (Super Girl 1/4)
