Giorgio is the best b&b host you could ever ask for. He picked us up from the train station, and on our first night, he took us to have dinner with an English-Italian conversation club where we got to meet some locals. He and his sister, Gabriella, then drove us 2 hours to go hiking in Madonie and also brought us to Cefalu afterwards. It was so nice of them to do that, and we would not have visited these places if it were not for Giorgio and Gabriella. Giorgio was very accommodating and provided us with huge, wonderful breakfasts everyday. Giorgio truly made my stay in Palermo a pleasure. I would definitely stay at Giorgio's House again.I miss you Giorgio!Arabelle

We stayed two nights at Giorgio's, and we all loved it. A very lively neighborhood, minutes from the market, where we sampled the famous Palermo sandwich... try it!Giorgio's tour is great. If you are staying more than one night, do it the first day, as Giorgio shows you some great sites, where you can return later.Palermo is a great city, and we would all stay again at Giorgio's House.

Giorgio's is the only one that takes the personal time to pick you up when you arrive at the trainway station. He's a very friendly, open-minded, young guy who likes people and social interaction. When we arrived he told us to do "like you're at home" (well, not entirely for sure :)). The rates are cheap, the rooms are large and beautiful.Breakfast is better than any other place we've been too and you get to share it with other guests at a big table. The location is excellent, in the centre. All in all, i would most certainly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Palermo, be it young or old. 5 stars!

It was our first time outside LatinoAmerica and we ´ve visited the famous Sicilia. During our trip we knew different kind of services but when we arrive to Giorgio´s House we knew a new friend called Giorgio. He offer us places to visit and things to do all the time. Trekk the mountains, visit differents beachs, eat and taste the real sicilian food and appreciate the italian clasical music....The house is clear with big rooms, and represents the traditional family house that you can see on the movies. For sure, we can say thanks Giorgio for make our time fantastic in your land.

Unbelieveable kindness, service and value for a true night in Italy if you can manage sleeping with ear plugs in. I think it was worth it!

Palermo is not, as other reviewers have mentioned, to everybody's taste. It is pretty rough and ready and can be quite scary at times (although nowhere near as scary as Naples....). However, it is exactly for these very reasons why a stay at Giorgio's House is highly recommended, with Giorgio's friendly smile and generous personality more than compensating for any unfriendliness from the girls in the bakery downstairs.Giorgio's House is a very typical Italian family flat that has been converted, with minimum alteration, into a B&B. Although clean it certainly could not be considered sterile, which gives it a quirky style and a feeling as if you are staying in someone's home (although Giorgio himself lives elsewhere). It is not a 5* hotel, but the price/value ratio is very high, both due to the low cost and the added value of Giorgio himself.Giorgio is an experienced traveller (he speaks very good English and French) and makes an enormous effort to make the guests feel at home both in the B&B and in Palermo. During my short stay (a weekend) this effort extended to picking me up from the station, taking me and the other guests out for an ice-cream (much appreciated after a long journey) and on the Saturday night (when I am sure he would rather have been with his friends) driving us to a typical eatery in the hills for some very traditional food, a place we would never have been able to visit without his help. I had a great time and would definitely return to Giorgio's House. I felt as if I was staying with a friend, and as far as I am concerned this is worth far more than feather pillows and flat screen televisions.

Giorgio's house is a real gem, and so is he! An added bonus is his sister, Gabriella, if you get to meet her. I had reservations about staying in Palermo as a solo traveller arriving late at night. Palermo was a prelude to a one week group tour of Sicily. I have read and heard much about this city.- many positive, many negative, but I came with an open mind. Giorgio eased my mind & assured me that he would be there at the train station waiting for me! Surely, he was there! Instantly I felt right at home in his company and spacious place. I had a large room with a balcony overlooking a little city street.. I stayed here for 3 days. After sightseeing, each afternoon I would sit in the balcony with my coffee and cake and watch the street come to life. I loved being in the old city center, feeling the pulse of it. The Ballaro market is nearby, where you can shop for produce and lots of other things amongst the locals. The location is great, close to everything - within walking distance if you love to go on foot.Gabriella, Giorgio's sister was a bonus. I was introduced to her and she took me and another former guest on a hike in a nature preserve. We swam in the clear water amidst rock formations, sunbathed on the rock platforms. So relaxing prior to my hectic group sightseeing tour. I can only wish that I had toured the rest of Sicily on my own in stead.Giorgio gave me lots of tips on travel in Sicily that I felt so confident about going solo on day trips to other towns. I visited Cefalu, roamed the city, took public transportation, shopped, etc. One evening Giorgio took me and other guests on a brief tour of Palermo then to a local restaurant for a sumptuous inexpensive dinner. I looked forward to waking up every morning with fdelicious resh bread and pastries that Giorgio just picked up from a bakery.. These are the best Italian pastries I have ever had. I had been to other parts of Itally on numerous visits. Giorgio is the best host I have ever had in all of Europe. He is funny, witty, energetic, multilingual!. Most of all, he he gives you extra special attention without expecting anything in return. I will be competing with many others to welcome him in my own home!Go with Giorgio's House - you get MORE FOR LESS!!!
